This is a temporary residency visa that will allow you to work in Australia for up to four years. The contract we offer for this type of visa is a minimum of 12 months or 2 years depending on the hospital. Once a hospital decides to offer sponsorship to a nurse they will provide CCM with a Visa Nomination approval which will enable you to apply to the relevant Immigration Office in Australia (DIMIA) for your visa.
As from 1st November 03, 457 applications will no longer be processed through the Australian Embassy in London. You can lodge your application via e-mail via the DIMIA website www.immi.gov.au
Once your visa has been granted by the Australian Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA), you and each of your family members included in the approval may travel to Australia without the need to have your visa evidenced into your passport. You must however travel and enter Australia on the passport which you specified in your application. Therefore you and your family members should go to the immigration office or any DIMIA office in Australia with your visa grant letter and your valid passport to have your visas evidenced in your passport.
