I am Omaira Ali, a registered nurse here in the Philippines. I graduated BSN last April 2006 obtaining my license last February 2007. I am currently employed as Delivery Room/ Labor Room Nurse in VRP Medical Center for 4 years and 9 months. I applied for staff nurse in my AGENCY ABBA.. and fortunately got hired. I already finished everything for my application, but when it comes to VISA application, my agency told me that I have to be in good shape having a BMI of less than 27. Is it really required for nurses to have a BMI less than 27? I am really suffering dieting just to have the target weight.. Im getting sick with the dieting I’m doing.. I hope its not really a requirement for me to go on with my application.. I just thought that if I get sick I will not be able to render quality nursing service to my patients. Please do help me.. I really do want to work there and give my services to patients. I hope having more weight will not affect my job giving quality nursing care to patients.. sukran!
