THE GRUDGE MATCH DONEGAL VS MAYO

Dublin is set to be invaded by the “Whest” as Mayo and Donegal line up for the battle to end all battles; the only game worth watching on Sunday: The All Ireland Football Final. Each determined to bring home Sam, to win glory and do want previous years’ teams were unable to achieve.  It’s been 20 years since the Sam Maguire made the journey to the beloved hills of Donegal. For Mayo the wait has been that much longer, 61 years!! (1951) since Sam was last seen in Mayo. Both sides want to be crowned the All Ireland Champion and both will fight tooth and nail in what everyone knows will be an-edge-of-your-seat-nail-biting-jumping-screaming-tear-filled game.

This weekend, the capital cities colours will change to seas of red and green; green and gold. On Sunday Croke park will be filled with screaming fans (Those lucky ones who managed it to get tickets!!) 80,000 + fills Croker and guaranteed come Sunday it will be packed to the hilt; along with all the pubs nearby.   Let’s hope the weather and teams’ performance can match the high spirits of the travelling fans.

So who do you think will win? Who do you want to see lift the Sam Maguire on Sunday.
