CCM Recruitment, GDPR & You- Data Protection
As you may be aware, there is a new EU regulation, the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), coming into effect in May. The GDPR gives individuals greater control over how their personal data is being used, stored, and shared. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) from 25th May 2018 will replace current data protection laws in the European Union.
This new law will give individuals greater control over their data by setting out additional and more clearly defined rights for individuals whose personal data is collected and processed by organisations.
Personal data, is data that is ‘identifiable’. It is data/ information where the identity of a specific individual can reasonably be ascertained. Examples of identifiers include the individual’s name, image, telephone, date of birth, email, or address.
