Job Overview: Our client is seeking  a Senior Medical Lab Technologist (Stem Cell)  The role is responsible for conducting all laboratory procedures as required following operational rules and procedures.

Job Summary: Primary Duties:

  • Determines competency to perform laboratory activities assigned to perform.
  • Participates in training and orientation of new staff / trainee and ensuring their abidance to the rules and policies as applied and implemented in the Section / Department / Facility (as per requirement).
  • Carries out other duties as assigned by the Supervisor / Senior Supervisor.
  • Operate equipment in the correct manner including, maintenance, calibration, QC, proper recording, troubleshooting, and inform Supervisor / Senior Supervisor of any malfunction. Ensure proper documentation.
  • Participates in equipment method validation, establish QC, writing SOP’s / procedure and other section activities / initiatives / continues improvement measure.
  • Prepares and complete SOPs.
  • Maintain sufficient inventory of material supplies for daily work and report shortage of materials to Supervisor / Senior Supervisor at earliest convenience in appropriate format. Ordering and approving the replenishment when necessary. Follow the Lab reagent / consumables policy.
  • Participates in proficiency testing program and implement the program as required including, receiving, processing, release of results and corrective action.
  • Attends / read the section meeting and comply with outcome actions as required.
  • Maintains and follow quality control procedures including trouble shooting and initiate corrective actions.
  • Analysis of samples, review, report / release of results.
  • Complies with the quality control programs and procedures including SOP (standard operation procedures) and Quality Assurance programs for Laboratory and hospital including accreditation activities.
  • Identifies, acts on and report incidents and participate in investigations as assigned.
  • Participates in quality assessment and quality improvement activities such as internal audit, risk identification, KPI and other activities.
  • Participates in accreditation preparation as required.
  • Oversees KPIs activities such as data collection, corrective actions, etc.

Educational/Professional Qualifications
  • BSc in Medical Technology or clinical laboratory science or an equivalent qualification requiring NLT 3 years training course OR  Graduate of an accredited (MLT) program leading to registration with ASCP / ASCLS / CSMLS / AIMS or fellowship of IBMS or other recognized institutions by the International Federation of Biomedical Laboratory sciences (IFBLS)
  • Current National License
  • NLT 4 year’s clinical experience in a clinical laboratory since first registration as a qualified laboratory science professional with MSc. NLT 3 years’ experience in a clinical laboratory environment
