Job Overview: Our client is seeking a Midwife  to join their team Women's Health Hospital within our client's Medical City in Riyadh.

 

Job Summary: Primary Duties:

  • Provide total patient care and management to medically uncomplicated pregnant women in the antenatal, intra partum and postpartum periods, as ordered by the physician in accordance with the established hospital and Midwifery scope of practice, division and unit specific guidelines, policies and procedures, standards and protocols of the Midwifery service.
  • Obtain medical history, conduct physical assessment, routine antenatal examinations and obstetrical assessments, examinations during the labour process and provide advice before and after screening and tests.
  • Perform examinations and artificial rupture of membranes when required. Apply internal and external foetal monitors and correctly interpret CTG readings, assess and monitor, maternal or foetal condition and escalate deterioration and emergency situation.
  • Conduct uncomplicated deliveries and post-delivery care to the mother and newborn.
  • Provide care for high-risk patients as assigned and escalate to physician when required.
  • Document all assessments and care provided in a concise, accurate and complete manner in the patient chart. Communicate patient related information to other health care team members in a timely manner.
  • Provide support to parents to cope with miscarriage, pregnancy termination, stillbirth and neonatal death.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and collaborative skills when interacting with patients/families and multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Assist with the orientation and evaluation of new staff.
  • Participate in teaching and mentoring of Nursing, Midwifery, Medical and Paramedical students, Interns and Residents.
  • Work with health care team members on activities and quality improvement process designed 
  • Comply with hospital infection control and safety protocol.

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years post graduate experience in an acute hospital setting in Midwifery
  • BSc Midwifery
