Job Overview: An Accredited Exercise Physiologist is a university qualified professional trained in the science of exercise to test, monitor, design and deliver physical activity and exercise interventions. An Accredited Exercise Physiologists scope of practice encompasses apparently healthy individuals to those with chronic and complex conditions, along the care pathway from primary prevention, through acute management, to rehabilitation, maintenance, and performance. Accredited Exercise Physiologists help to establish safe and effective exercise and healthy lifestyle behaviours to optimize health and quality of life and enhance performance.

Experience and Education Requirements

• Certified BSc degree (3-year minimum) in the area of sport or exercise science or
• MSc (1-year minimum) or PhD in the area of sport or exercise science and
• Registration as an Exercise Physiologist with one of the following:
  • British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences 
  • American College of Sports Medicine
  • Exercise and Sport Science Australia
• One (1) year of experience post accreditation in the related field
